Some Highlights from a Decade of Service & Excellence

Above were the last ten years of the Excellence of Kalinga Bharti led by Founder & National President Er. Akshay Kr Samal. During the current Covid pandemic, he has played a vital role with the big support from Odisha -Mo Parivar & and financial support from the relief fund of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha which saved many lives across the country, however, we frequently organize Blood donations camps, free health checkup camps, plantation drive etc, at regular intervals. In recognition of this momentous day in India’s journey Kalinga Bharati Foundation family has decided to organize different activities with the theme “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat”. in a move towards commemorating 75 years of India’s independence. We are going to organize a National Folk Dance Festival in five states with the objective of world peace & and women's empowerment.

Centenary Celebration of Pandit Kumar Gandharva

Under the leadership of Er. Akshay Kumar Samal, the 100th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Kumar Gandharva, the eminent Hindustani classical singer, was organized at his birthplace Dewas and Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, honoring his timeless contribution to Indian classical music.

Free Health Check-up Camp & TB Patient Support – Punjab

In February 2024, a Free Health Check-up Camp was organized at Civil Hospital, Mansa District (near Bathinda), Punjab, supporting 128 TB patients. The initiative received award and recognition from the Head of Civil Surgeon, Mansa Hospital, in association with TSPL Power Plant.

6th Prabashi Odia Raja Mahotsav & Odia Food Festival – 2024

The 6th Prabashi Odia Raja Mahotsav & Odia Food Festival was organized on 15–16 June 2024 at Jewel Garden, Gurugram. The event promoted Odia art, culture, traditional food, and women empowerment through Odia Women Leadership Awards and Talent Search. The Chief Guest was Hon’ble Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh. In previous years, dignitaries like Sh. Baijayanta Panda, Sh. Pratap Chandra Sarangi, and Dr. Lelin Mohanty graced the occasion.

Mega Charity Cultural Night – Cyclone Relief

In December 2014, a Mega Charity Cultural Night featuring Abhijit Mazumdar was organized in Gurugram, Haryana, with the objective of providing financial support to Odisha cyclone victims.

125th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose

The 125th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was celebrated across five states—West Bengal, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Odisha—from 7 November 2021 to 23 January 2022. Eminent personalities including H.E. Jagdeep Dhankhar (then Governor of West Bengal), Ms. Madhuri Bose (UK), Hon’ble MP Subhash Singh, and Lt. Gen. Chandi Prasad Mohanty participated.

1st International Jagannatha Mahotsav – New Delhi

A week-long 1st International Jagannatha Mahotsav was organized in December 2019 at New Delhi. Bharat Ratna Late Shri Pranab Mukherjee, former President of India, was the Chief Guest, and Gajapati Maharaja Shri Divya Singh Dev inaugurated the Mahotsav. Devotees from seven countries participated, with over one lakh visitors, witnessing 24 Besha and 56 Bhoga of Lord Jagannatha. The theme was “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, with participation from spiritual leaders of multiple faiths.

150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

In 2018, a week-long celebration marking the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was held in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, inaugurated by H.E. Prof. Ganeshi Lal, Governor of Odisha. A documentary film “Karyanjali” was launched, 3,000 trees planted, 16 free medical camps organized, along with cultural programs in Odisha and Delhi-NCR.

Bicentenary Celebration of Paika Rebellion

The 200 Years Bicentenary of the Paika Rebellion against British rule was commemorated in 2017 at Bhubaneswar, inaugurated by H.E. Dr. S. C. Jamir, Governor of Odisha. A cultural dance-drama “Buxi Jagabandhu” was performed at Utkal Mandap.

Raja Mahotsav & Odia Food Festival – Haryana

Odisha’s famous Gana Parba Raja Mahotsav & Odia Food Festival was celebrated in Gurugram in 2017 and 2018, inaugurated by Sh. Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Sh. Baijayanta Panda, and Sh. Sukhbir Kataria, former Minister of Haryana.

“Shaheedon Ko Salaam” – National Patriotic Program

The patriotic dance-drama “Shaheedon Ko Salaam” was organized in Gurugram and Bhubaneswar in memory of URI, Pulwama, and Galwan Valley martyrs during 2016, 2017, and 2020. The program was graced by Hon’ble Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Hon’ble Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda, with participation from school and college students.

1st Prabashi Odia Utsav & Prabashi Odisha Meet – 2016

The 1st Prabashi Odia Utsav on Utkal Diwas was organized in 2016 at Om Shanti Retreat Centre, Gurugram. Chief guests included H.E. Dr. S. C. Jamir (Governor of Odisha), Hon’ble CM of Haryana Manohar Lal, and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Over 200 Prabashi Odia organizations and 5,000 attendees gathered under one roof for the first time.

Odissi Cultural Festival – Rajasthan

An Odissi Cultural Festival was organized in 2015 at Bhiwadi, Alwar (Rajasthan) on the occasion of the Car Festival, in collaboration with Bhiwadi Jagannatha Temple Committee.
